Take 2 – art walk to the municipal art spaces: Artothek & Bildersaal and Lothringer 13 Halle
The Department of Arts and Culture of the City of Munich supports the production and presentation of art in Munich. The municipal Art Spaces (Artothek & Bildersaal, Lothringer 13 Halle, FLORIDA Lothringer 13, MaximiliansForum, Rathausgalerie Kunsthalle) encourage contacts between the general public and artists at attractive venues. They exhibit art from Munich also in the dialogue involving international issues.
With „Take 2“ – we invite you to a guiding tour (2 hours) to discover two very different exhibition spaces and galleries – Artothek & Bildersaal and Lothringer 13 Halle. Look behind the scenes and talk to the involved curators and artists. Learn more about the institutions and their current exhibitions.
Where?
The tour starts at Artothek & Bildersaal (Adress: Rosental 16 near to Viktualienmarkt), which is simultaneously an art library and a gallery. It supports Munich artists by purchasing their images and sculptures. The artworks can be loaned from the art library for a small fee. In addition, numerous exhibitions and events take place in the gallery space, the so-called „Bildersaal“. You have the possibilty to talk to the artists Sofie Bird Møller and Alexander Laner about there exhibition „Einfach war gestern“ which presents paintings and sculpural works. The Artothek-team shows you the a selection of the collection.
The tour continues (by S-Bahn, 2 Stations) to Lothringer 13 Halle (Adress: Lothringer Straße 13) in Haidhausen. This art space has been devoted to experimental art processes under the conduct of rotating curators since 1980. It sees itself as a place for encounters between the general public, artists and cultural producers from Munich who are active internationally. Here THE AGENCY will present the exhibition at N U R T U R Æ L with works by Kanako Azuma, Sarah Doerfel and Nile Koetting. In N U R T U R Æ L the sun is omnipresent. Forests and seas of the earth have silted up, while known and unknown beings try to ensure their survival collaboratively: potential ecosystems of living objects, no longer human people and animal species that practice or unlearn a future existence. At 4 p.m. after the guiding tour the performance SOLASTALGIA can be seen at Lothringer 13 Halle.

It is recommended to be there 5 Minutes before the start.
