Take 2 – art walk to the municipal art spaces: Kunstarkaden and MaximiliansForum
The Department of Arts and Culture of the City of Munich supports the production and presentation of art in Munich. The municipal Art Spaces (Artothek & Bildersaal, Lothringer 13 Halle, FLORIDA Lothringer 13, MaximiliansForum, Rathausgalerie Kunsthalle, Kunstarkaden) encourage contacts between the general public and artists at attractive venues. They exhibit art from Munich also in the dialogue involving international issues.
With „Take 2“ – we invite you to a guiding tour (2 hours) to discover two very different exhibition spaces and galleries – Kunstarkaden & MaximiliansForum. Look behind the scenes and talk to the involved curators and artists. Learn more about the institutions and their current exhibitions.
Where?
The tour starts at Kunstarkaden (Adress: Sparkassenstraße 3 near to Marienplatz). The Kunstarkaden is a forum for artistic experiments and a platform for contemporary art. As a location for projects conceived in dailogue form, the Kunstarkaden supports group exhibtions of young artists who live in Munich and are from different cultures. The works are presented and can be experienced in an interaction with the conditions of the space. They allow new realms of experience to emerge.
The tour continues to MaximiliansForum (Adress: Pedestrian underpass: Maximilianstraße Altstadtring). Since the beginning of the 1970s, the MaximiliansForum has been an exhibtion space for contemporary art and its topical discussions. With its special location it is an unique venue for visual and applied art projetcs.
